FREE ADHD SUPPORT SERVICES
If you choose to go down the NHS route towards an ADHD diagnosis, you could face a long wait. If you do finally make it to the end of the queue, you may receive an ADHD diagnosis, and you may also receive medication. But what next?
It can feel like you've been left to fend for yourself. No information, no education, no extra services offered. This can make people feel very lonely. MKAASG was set up to provide a community to help fill in those gaps and provide support, whether you've been diagnosed or not.
Not everyone can afford medication, therapy or coaching, so our aim is to make support accessible. We have several free services on offer. The community helps each other to feel understood, stay motivated, and receive meaningful advice gained through lived experience. Sharing your experiences and finding that they are commonplace can be very validating, helping to 'normalise' the situations we find ourselves in as people with ADHD.
We run a Facebook group with a large ADHD community, host monthly in-person meet-ups, an ADHD-friendly walking group, online body doubling sessions, and a supportive WhatsApp accountability group.
Our meet-ups have hosted talks on ADHD by people like Professor James Brown (ADHD Adult UK charity, The ADHD Adults Podcast) and Laura Mears-Reynolds (ADHDAF+ charity, ADHDAF Podcast). We are always looking for more speakers to give talks so that we can help spread awareness and provide value to our support group community by covering topics that are relevant and helpful for adults with ADHD.
Each service has been introduced to provide help for people with ADHD. Whether it's providing structure, connection, or just reducing the isolation that many of us can feel, hopefully there is something here that can help you as well. You can sign up to as much or as little as you want, and if (when) you forget they exist, we'll be here when you come back!
